Twas the Night Before Christmas, when all thru the barn,

The only creatures stirring were the horses, all warm.

The polo wraps were hung, by the wash rack with care,

In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there.

With Vinny in his Bucas, and Zoe in her Rambo,

All the horses had just settled in for a long evening nap.

When out on the field arose such a clatter,

The barn was awoken to see what was the matter.

Away to the barn doors, the horses flew like a flash,

Poked their heads out and nickered unabashed.

What to the wondering eyes of those ponies should appear?

But a miniature sleigh and 8 tiny reindeer.

After the drama and lots of nickering and kicks,

The ponies knew in that moment it must be St. Nik.

More rapid that eagles, St. Nik called the ponies by name.

It’s ok Romeo, Volte, Zoe and Vinny.  Just settle down, Riley, Finn and Steddy.

To the top of the hay loft, to the top of each stall.

Don’t worry little ponies, St. Nik won’t dash away at all.

St. Nik was dressed in fur from his head to his foot.

His clothes were all tarnished not ONLY with ashes and soot,

But some sawdust, and hay with bits of carrot on his boot.

His eyes, how they twinkled! His dimples, how merry.

His cheeks were like roses and nose like a cherry.

His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,

And his beard on his chin was as white as a new polo.

He was chubby and plump, in a jolly good mood.

And the ponies nickered when they saw him just in case he had food.

A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,

Soon gave Romeo and Riley comfort there was nothing to dread.

He spoke not another word, but went straight to his work.

He rolled all the polos and turned with a jerk.

The ponies wondered, had he forgotten the cookies, carrots and mints?

But no, just then he fumbled in his pockets and gave each pony a tidbit.

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,

And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.

The ponies all watched as he rode out of sight,

“Merry Christmas to all, and to all a Good Night!”
