At HITS-on-the-Hudson on Sunday, Egypt’s 22 year-old Nayel Nassar asked his 9 year old Hanoverian gelding Lordan to answer some tough questions against some stiff competition, and the young horse answered them beautifully, winning the Zoetis $1 Million in a jump-off against veteran Todd Minikus on Quality Girl.  New Zealander Sharn Wordley with Derly Chin De Muze, the former ride of Canadian Olympic Gold medalist Eric Lamaze, was third.

The $350,000 prize was a pretty spectacular payday for Nassar, who will graduate Stanford this December with a degree in economics.  Although, as Wordley jokingly told Nassar, “You don’t need to graduate economics to know you just won a sh*tload of money!”
