Where do you go when the snowflakes blow?

When the wind is cold and the sky is gray

The horses all warm and munching hay

The barn is alive with quiet sounds

Makes it hard to turn and go

I wish I could ride, but the footing is wrong

Scarves and coats and boots and hats

Let’s muck, bed stalls, and fix the mats

Fighting the ice with gloved hands

Find a broom to sweep  – it won’t take long

Winter is a time of slowing down the frantic pace

Winter is a time of slowing down the frantic pace

Whistling wind shuts the barn doors tight

Winter makes us love the spring

But it’s the calm that winter brings

That makes the horses love us more

A time where riding time is light

Cold nights and days, crisp air to breathe

Winter makes us take our ease

And stop our hurried frantic pace

To ride and school and win the race

Take a lesson, enter the show

The horse would rather we just

Watch the snowflakes blow
