Oh, to be a (spoiled rotten) horse

Oh, to be a (spoiled rotten) horse

I have been working 70 hour weeks for months. Then I went through the audit from hell. The weather has been record setting low forever!!!! And there has been record levels of snow. I’m tired, I’m wore thin and I think I might be battling a bit of depression. I thought of treating myself to a facial and massage, but the mare needed a complete Spa week.

Yep! I have not had my nails done in a year, the last time was for my daughter’s wedding and of course I chipped one heading out the salon door. The last time I had a pedicure was in 2009. I even cut and colored my own hair last month, not because of money issues but simply because I did not have time.

The mare gets worked four maybe five hours a week. She is groomed and massaged before and after each time. She has nine winter coats. She gets special hot snacks on cold evenings and on the cold days she gets to stay in. She does not have to waddle out to a car, shovel it out from feet of snow and plop her behind on a cold leather.

Crazy me it’s super important to get her nails done every six weeks like clockwork. She also has a Chiropractor session followed by acupuncture treatments using pins loaded with vitamin B to relax and heal the muscles and then she has an hour long massage. Mind you before and after all this, she had a hot steam towel bath.  Then a warm snack of hot mash and beer.

In my next life, can I please be the horse?
