As mentioned in my recap of Saturday’s cross-country, the 2* course was riding pretty tough and there were a couple very impressive saves.

I was at the first water on the course, which generally rode pretty well with only one fall being recorded on the scoresheet. That said, there were a couple less than ideal landings into the water resulting in some pretty impressive stickability.

Lauren Kieffer showed incredible determination and athleticism to stay on Landmark’s Monte Carlo on landing.

In talking with Cindy, the other photographer here for Horse Junkies United, there were several similar incidents at the main water complex later on the course. Pictured below is Alyssa Peterson having a pretty great recovery when her horse Music Man II tripped in the water.
