Friday:

Yesterday, we had to do some of our official team business which included sending off forms, and other items, in an overnight rush. It was a race to the Fedex office to make sure the package got off on time. As we drive in the parking lot, the Fedex truck is packing up. Luckily the driver waited for us and then helped us fill out the forms to make sure it got on its way. Perfect timing!

Training camp has been amazing. Perfect weather, perfect horses in the most lovely place. The drive is lined with huge linden trees which are blooming and have the most divine fragrance.

Isn't this pretty?

Dressage Camp

At training camp, we have the four team members and two reserves. In the group, we have two Sarah’s and two Chris’s which makes for some interesting moments…

Friday:

We had media training with the Canadian Olympic Committee media crew.  The eventing team came over and brought lunch! It was great to meet one of the other Canadian equestrian teams.

Since it was a media day we all wore our special red shirts we are supposed to wear until we get our official Pan Am gear. So we have been wearing the same red shirt for a few days now! Everyday seems to have a reason to wear the shirts, again!  The eventing team riders didn’t get their shirts before the media event, so they arrived all dressed up!

Saturday:

After the training rides, we had the team photo. So yes, the red shirts AGAIN! What is that, four days in a row now? I am loosing count…. Tomorrow, I think we will have a revolt if we ask them to wear the red shirts – again!

Getting group photos is always hilarious… Stand over there. You move two feet left, no the other left. Where is so and so. Etc etc. lots of laughs and lots of great photos.

Tomorrow (Sunday) we are off to the Queens Plate race at Woodbine – very exciting! And I hear we will be walking a red carpet…  I just hope we don’t have to wear the red shirts!
