(1) Ballylaffin Bracken is Stunning
Some horses are just more genetically blessed than others, and Ballylaffin Bracken is definitely an equine supermodel. He’s tall, dark(ish), handsome and just has a certain presence about him.
(2) Dressage Can Warm Hearts
Arthur is a phenomenal athlete and has all the talent in the world. He is also a tricky ride who has historically had difficulty keeping his focus in high atmosphere situations. Watching Allison and Arthur put in a beautiful test yesterday afternoon was a heartwarming experience.
(3) Kinesio Tape Has Taken Rolex By Storm
Ok, fine. So, I only spotted one horse wearing the kinesio tape, but I still found it to be a noteworthy development. The kinesio tape has been used in human physical therapies for quite some time, and reportedly (i.e. per google) could help stimulate targeted muscles on horses.
(4) Marilyn Little May Just Have Impeccable Taste in Horses
Again this week, I was struck by the fact that Marilyn Little has really excellent taste in horses. I don’t think I’ve ever seen her on a horse that I didn’t like! She also happens to be an extremely talented rider who has made an impressive conversion to eventing in just three short years.
(5) I’m Looking Forward to Watching High Times Gallop Around Cross-Country
High Times and Jennifer McFall may not lead the pack after dressage, but I am really excited to watch them tackle the cross-country course. Something about this horse makes me think that it will be a joy to watch him gallop around (ok…that something might be his neat extended canter!)
Cr0ss-Country begins at 11am. Watch it live on the USEF Network or FEI TV.
