The Holidays are fast approaching and so I thought I would put together a few suggestions of my favourite equestrian fashion pieces, brands and stores for anyone who is stuck on what to buy for their horsey friends, or wants to fill out their wish list! I love dressage fashion so much – the leather, the suede, the rich colours and soft fabrics, the bling, the cool snaps, buckles and buttons and the preppy patterns, everything!!! I much prefer it to regular clothing! So this week I thought I might share my favourites. Hope you enjoy!!!
Asmar has some of my favourite clothes ever. They’re obviously super high quality and fab for riding and everything, but they are so stylish, comfortable and original that they transition from horse wear to street wear seamlessly. They also have other clothes like cozy knit sweaters and headbands that aren’t specific for riding but can be worn around the barn or a chilly autumn horse show.
- Polo shirts (especially the light green, magenta and heather grey)
- All Weather Rider rain jacket
- Popover Jacket
- Chantilly Show Coat
CT is really great because their clothes are very high quality and last for a really long time. The stuff is more expensive than a lot of other brands, but I wear my fashions so much that the price-per-wear has gone way down and I really have gotten so much use out of them!
- Navy and Red Bomber Jacket
Arista has a ton of different fashions from vests to show coats to breeches, all of which fit really well and have lasted me or a really long time. I wore their Modern Dressage Jacket in grey for my show season this year and it is definitely one of my favourites. Some of their stuff would make a perfect gift for a competitor or someone who just likes to look nice around the barn!
- Modern Dressage Jacket
- Down Filled Vest
- Merino Wool Ruched ¼ Zip shirt
I know that when most people think of Horseware Ireland they think of blankets and quarter sheets in that striking but beautiful Newmarket Stripe. But some of their sweaters and coats are the coziest things and will keep you warm through the winter. As a bonus, if you or someone who you’re buying for are the matchy matchy type, you can get a blanket for your horse in the same pattern!
- Alana Jacket
- Fleece Lined Hoodie
My Barn Child has the best charms that are perfect for your snaffle bridle or your horse’s braids at the show, not to mention the fact that it’s very reasonably priced!!! I received a charm as a gift from somebody at our barn and ever since I have been hooked on their preppy charms and earrings. My Barn Child is my go-to brand for presents, and sometimes just a bit of bling for myself!!! Their stuff is very high quality and each charm has its own personality and appeal. I like the Spin-in-pearls because they are perfect for Iliado’s braid at CDI jogs! Another thing I do is take the clasp off the charm and string a chain through the hole! It makes the perfect necklace- horse themed or not!!!
- “Believe” Charm
- “Canada” Charm
- “Spin-in Crowns”
- “Liverpool” Earrings
Hope this was helpful! Feel free to let me know if you want any other suggestions!!!!
