They are only 2 and a half years old and already the Armstrong Triplets have brushed shoulders with some of the top Show Jumping riders in North America (like McLain at The Royal Horse Show!).
This past weekend, Captain Canada Ian Millar, posed for a picture with Taylor, J.P. and Ashton as they showed off their red ribbons.
The trio took part in the lead line class at the inaugural Ottawa International Horse Show at Wesley Clover Parks on June 20th. The crew, affectionately known as the A-team, competed in a big class of 13 riders, including Millar’s granddaughter Lily. The judge said the class was too close to call and gave all the competitors first place ribbons.
Mom, Trina Maus, says they were only going to watch the show when Sandi Patterson the manager of Wesley Clover Parks offered them three ponies to ride. “Sandi had the ponies all cleaned, braided and each one came with a groom. Even though all three kids were showing it was the most relaxed show for me since they started competing.” she smiled. If the name sounds familiar, Sandi was Big Ben’s personal groom.
Of course this isn’t the first time the triplets have met show jumping royalty. Last November McLain Ward gave J.P. a piggyback ride at the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair in Toronto. Maus, jokes “People use to know my name, now they just call me the Mom of Triplets”.
